Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge

The dress is beautiful. So classic.

1. The 1936 Cartier "halo" tiara was lent to the bride by The Queen
2. The veil is made of layers of soft, ivory silk tulle with a trim of hand-embroidered flowers
3. The bodice, narrowed at the waist and padded at the hips, is a hallmark of McQueen's designs
4. For the dress, individual flowers were hand-cut from lace and hand-engineered onto ivory silk tulle
5. The train measures 2m 70cm
6. The shoes (hidden), made of satin with hand-embroidered lace, were also Alexander McQueen

Quoted from BBC website.

Prince William and Catherine Middleton have written their own prayer:

"God our Father, we thank you for our families; for the love that we share and for the joy of our marriage.

In the busyness of each day keep our eyes fixed on what is real and important in life and help us to be generous with our time and love and energy.

Strengthened by our union help us to serve and comfort those who suffer. We ask this in the Spirit of Jesus Christ. Amen."

The Queen looked great, but Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie as you can just make out behind the Queen and Prince Philip were dressed...interestingly. :)

I really enjoyed watching the wedding and all the pomp and ceremony, I wish them all the best.

Posts are like buses...

...there are none for ages and then three turn up at once!

Today we visited Shibden Hall Park. We didn't go in the hall today, though I did get some pictures outside the hall.

We rowed about in a boat (well my Dad did the rowing, if it'd been me we'd have gone around in circles) - Squidge wasn't impressed at all, she cried most of the time because she was convinced we were going to sink. No 'messing about in boats' for relaxation for Squidge then!

They enjoyed the small ferris wheel ride though. Chatterbox screamed the whole time, lol!

Walking up towards the hall.

Shibden Hall dates from 1420 and has had various buildings and structures added over the years.

Squidge is rarely upright.

We had a lovely day.

Cats sleep anywhere

Cats sleep anywhere, any table, any chair.
Top of piano, window-ledge, in the middle, on the edge.
Open drawer, empty shoe, anybody's lap will do.
Fitted in a cardboard box, in the cupboard with your frocks.
Anywhere! They don't care! Cats sleep anywhere.

Hello out there...

Hello, is anyone out there? :)

I've not given up on the ol' blog, it's simply that life's been a little hectic. I will try to get around some blogs this week too.

So how's your Easter been? Mine's been lovely. We've had a wonderful time at church, and we've been out and about. The last couple of weeks of school were incredibly busy, there have been parents' evenings, parties, a course, overtime due to other staff being absent, the girls' dance exams, the award presentation for the dance exams, choir shows, clarinet ensembles...Easter couldn't come soon enough for me! And even when the Easter holidays came it didn't seem to stop. But I'm not complaining, it's been fun.

We've had some beautiful weather for April. The sun's been out, glorious! Today's the first day it's been a bit chill and I've got my cardigan on. :)

Here are a few photos:

Waiting for Painted Lady butterflies to hatch...we had some very hairy caterpillars!

A day at the beach in April!

Who'd have thought we'd have a beach day? The girls loved it.

So, that's all for now. Hopefully will be back again soon and I will try to get around some blogs too.

Hugs.
