There were some fantastic trees, lots of gnarly twisted ones. The place where Squidge was climbing was like a tree graveyard, full of fallen trees and twisted branches.
Was it an accidental graveyard or is it one of those Victorian novelties called a stumpery (I so want to create a stumpery but am afraid if I did I would have carpenter ants - plus I am not sure hubs would go for it).

I love the BBC version best too, much more than the more recent Keira Knightley film.
Whenever we visit our daughter in Bramhall we take a walk in Lyme Park, have a coffee and browse in the shop. It's a lovely place.
It is a gorgeous place, so blessed to have such places near by.
