Books

Like Emerrube I have book reading phases where I read and read and read.  I'm going through one of those phases right now.

I'm currently reading A Praying Life by Paul Miller.  I love it already and I'm only on page 38.

I have lots of favourite types of books - I enjoy comedies, thrillers, classics, Christian fiction, Christian 'living' type books and lots more.

Do you read a specific genre of book, are there genres you don't like, do you read a wide variety like me?

I usually like to have one serious book and one Christian fiction book going at the same time, depending on the mood I'm in. :o)

As you probably have guessed, I read just about everything!! I also go through reading phases and they tend to be seasonal. During the summer, I am so busy, I just don't read and then again before Christmas.

My huge reading time is the first two-three months of the year, which is right now.

I've recently read "Giants in the Earth" (if you like Little House on the Prairie books - it will fascinate you). I wrote a bit about it on my other blog: http://gamestoysandotheramusements.blogspot.com/2011/12/great-plains.html

I reread The Testament by Grisham for book club (another excellent book).

I read Night by Elie Weasel this week. I did not like it.

I am currently reading Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand (her writing is always phenomenal and her stories compelling).

I used to like mystery/detective type books a lot when I was younger. Started with Nancy Drew and moved into Agatha Christie...along with countless other series. Lately, it's been more Sci-Fi. Not sure why. Although, some of that is getting kind of cliche for me too. :)
