For Prayer and Rainy Day Photo Safari

Please pray for the residents of Hebden Bridge a town about 9 miles away from us, they've been hit for the second time in recent weeks by awful floods: Flash Floods

We've had a goodly amount of rain, here's pics from a recent walk:

The lake has filled up nicely.

Lake overflow is overflowing :)

The stile is a waterfall

Almost to the roof of the bridge

River almost to its limit.

River bursting its banks.

The lane is a river

Which is river and which is path?

Shall we swim to the gate?

A bit soggy.

water amazes me. okay, all the elements amaze me, but especially water. it's amazing how it sustains life, but can also easily take it away. The way it comes together and easily becomes a force. The way it seems so harmless when it isn't. I love the way it sounds.

I'll be praying for those folks. Water is amazingly destructive. I really stand quite in awe of it.

Wow....that's *a lot* of rain.

I can't tell you the last time it rained here, we're in a *severe* drought.

Water is incredibly powerful, it's amazing how the smallest river of water can sweep you off your feet too.

We need to swap weather for a little while, I don't want a drought, but a bit of sun would be nice! :)

Friends in France have had 3 inches of water in their sitting room, and have found it so heart breaking. There are so many places in need of prayer right now due to this awful weather.

Yes, so many places have been flooded and so many need our prayers. It must be so devastating to have one's home full of water like that.

I felt particularly sorry for the residents of Hebden Bridge, they were just picking up the pieces and cleaning up their homes after the last flood when they were flooded again.

I know, lol, and there is apparently more to come. It's been quite nice for the past two days. At least I've managed to dry a bit of washing!
